Hey guys,
have you heard from the 6-speed automatic chevy is offering in the vette and the pickups? the vette has a paddle shift. You know who makes them? That be even better to put in my chevelle. Are they any good? How much do they hold out?

 

Its the 6L80E. Nobody offers standalone electronics right now to make it work as a swap candidate. It has a TCM and all the solenoids packaged into one unit inside the transmission. Until someone offers a compatable controller its at a standstill.

 

Not a big thing, but GM dropped the "E" on all of its new 6 speeds. Since all transmissions are electronic these days, they felt there was no need to call out the E anymore. It's simply called the 6L80.
