Default should I change my converter myself or have a pro do it?

I have a midwest 3000 stall converter that I planned on getting installed but I want to learn more about my car and how to work on it.
Is this intall only for the seasoned shade tree mechanic or do yo think I can pull it off. I have rebuilt brake calipers on a diff car, changed my plugs, installed lid and maf, and changed my own oil of course. I have all the tools except for tranny jack which I think I can rent. I have no lift so I would be putting the car up on 4 jack stands.

My question is...should I dive in or have a pro do it? It would be nice to save the install $$. If this works out I think I will change my diff fluid and install a hi perf girtle for it.

thanks in advance

Ive installed a few. It's a real pain in the ***. If you have the $$$ get a pro to do the install. It's not hard to screw something up, and destoying your tranny.

With all the knowledge running around in Houston, I would think that you can find assistance.

Do some crusing, meet up with some F-body peeps, make friends, have an install party where you supply the food and beer. Free food and beer usually attracts gearheads!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

The money you will save by doing yourself can be used elsewhere like - mods, on your wife/girlfriend, or even more mods!!

There is also alot of install info on this board that will help. Good Luck.
