I~ve been very happy with the FLP stage IV.

The FLP has a LOT of line pressure and shifts real hard without doing anything which I don't like. Some people attribute that pressure as being excessive and causes the FLP tranny to break. Don't know how much truth there is to that.

Pretty impossible to have a "TON" of line pressure since it`s vacuum modulated. Mine is absolutely tame on the street until you get on it and then line pressure is set according to Manifold Vacuum.
FLP trannies have an excellent proven track record and have never had a "bad batch of design".. err, I mean "parts".

Have you? The FLP tranny shifted hard as hell no matter what you did, weather it be regular driving or going from reverse to drive or getting on the car. The speed inc trans is not even noticeable in the car which is something I prefer. If you dont believe me, I could care less. Go drive a car that has each and you will see. Also, just because both trannies are vacuum operated doesnt mean that they both have the same shift firmness. Maybe the difference of shifting is caused by the shift kit they use.
I wonder if anyone else has a 4L60E that has been on the dyno up to 700HP. We have a beefier one going in that hopfully will hold up after we tune the car!
its all in testing right now... so instead of doing a billet roller 200r4 we might be able to have a 800+HP LS1 with a 4L60E
Thanks everyone for the kind words!

Most of the higher HP applications I have seen just do not use the 4L60E which was the reason for my initial comment.
