Default Tranny rebuilt, intsall question

I have heard mix things. I value your opinions because i know there are a few good ppl on here that actually know what they are talking about unlike half the people working in my local dealership. I just had my 4l60e tranny rebuilt by a respectable guy. I had a few upgrades such as the super servo, beast sunshell, alto 9 clutch pack, kevlar bans, and transgo shift improver kit. plus the regular stuff that comes in the kit. I was told i would have to make fine tune adjustments to the transmission after i install it from a few different ppl. Im puzzled. Is this true? will a hypertech tuner work? I didnt think it would be this much trouble.

thanks,
Jeff

you dont have to but i had torque management removed. you cant do that with a hypertech. you might see if whoever rebuilt your tranny will swap out that kevlar band. kavlar is too hard of a material for the application.

Though I agree kevlar is not my choice either we have seen trucks we used them in after a year or so we have a few comercial accounts and though the band still looked good the drum had taken a beating guess because the mateirial on the band is so hard. But I wouldnt worry it will work a long time just dont care for its shift characterists(feel) in a performance application. As for the tuning unless you ae puting a converter other than stock or above 2500 RPM stall I would see no reason for that other than as mentioned removing torque management.
Hope this helps a little.

The kevlar band is just an extra precaution, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TO STRONG A MATERIAL in the 4l60e's...... You can order a tune from PCMforless for less than a Hypercrap cost.... PM me if your interested and I can get you intouch with them!

Plus with the tune you get other benefits performance wise, isntead of just increasing your timing...... Just my .02 though...

I am waiting on my yank 2800 stall to get here to install everything. I wanted to build a strong tranny so i wouldnt have to worry about it. I dont race my car but i do drive it hard from time to time. With that stall, what is recommended? I wont mind the shifting characteristics as long as the tranny will hold up.
