700R/4l60 shifter
700R/4l60 shifter I would like to get rid of my stock shifter and get a B&M Rachet setup but need to know if a shifter that would work for a 700R would work for a 4l60. I want to get the one that can be used with a 4l60 and a th400 as I will be going to one of thoes within in about a year. I have looked on summit but they don't list and shifter for the 4l60, just ones that will work with the 700r th400 and powerglide. Anybody know if one of thoes would work?
well I used b&m megas in 3 of my 700-R4 equipped TPI cars
a 4L60 is an upgraded 700-R4 for all intensive purposes
the E is what might mess this all up
maybe a trans guy will verify or correct this
the computer will over-ride and force an up-shift unless the trans is built for manual control (?)
but my guess is they work (never compared the cables personally) but you prob'ly don't wanna manually shift your 4L60E anyway, so maybe go w/ one of the non-ratcheting shifters for the looks part
