Default Shift Cable Trouble Please Help

Hey guys I got a Turbo 350 Tranny. The car will not move, and the shift lever (b&m ratchet slapshifter) is real loose. I had this problem the other day, and I unbolted the two bolts holding the bracket of the shift cable to the tranny pan. I pulled the cable to the left for two clicks, and pushed it to the right two clicks to lign the bracket to the two holes that keep her attached to the pan. Started her up, and put her into gear, worked perfectly for 2 days (maybe 12miles). Now I have the same problem again, it feels like she's in nuetral when I gas it, but when the pedal is to the floor, she moves at about 2 miles an hour. The shift cable itself is pretty long and the shifter is very loose. But when I fixed it the first time, the shifter became strong and hard to shift, but now I try to do the same thing and nothing. Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks
