Anyone here have that convertor? What are the pros and cons with it. I am considering on getting one because I won't be using sticky tires. How is the drivability with 3.73 gears?
Soft hitting. It gave me 1.71 60 fts with 3.73 gears in a bolt-on car. This was with Nittos. Traction was no problem.
Drivability was very nice, IMO. I actually liked driving it more than the stock converter.

SY3500 + 3.73 gears = Deadly Combination!!
I ran them in my 98 Z-28 with great success. 1.68 60' times. Racing from a roll was incredible. Very easy to launch with street tires.

i have a bolt on a car with 3.23s. Will most likely be adding a cam this coming summer, maybe go with the S1 or S2 from speedtek or whatever their new cam is. need somethin easily usable for nittos on the street, track isnt that important. would the SY3500 be good? i want somethin that hits decently but can still launch hard on nittos on the street.

Everybody's different but I like knowing I have a little extra there just incase I DO decide to heat 'em up, go to the track, or find for any reason that I have a little extra traction (like on a concrete bridge which can hook as well as most tracks.) I like the extra tightness of a high STR converter too.
No disagreement fearless leader Just pointing out that what some people call "street racing" is different than what many racers call "street racing"
