Default Hitting limiter

this problem has been happening for a good while but never so bad. during the 1-2 shift it will hit the limiter 2 out of 5 wot runs and 2-3 will hit it maybe 1 out of 5 times if that. car has about 101k on it with a tci 3k stall and the line pressure has been bumped up a bit. my local tuner had to lower the shift command down to around 2500rpm due to it was doing it in every gear everytime i was wot. the only problem with that is the car shifts at 6k when the limiter is set at 6500. now i'm looking to put my bottle back in and am afraid of the extra rpms popping it. as far as i know the car had its tranny serviced at 60k (picked it up with 71k) could this possible be a filter issue?
thanks in advance.

well if tuning is not helping it sounds like it is an old tranny to me it may be on its way out

thats what people told me a year or so ago and that was after the converter was installed and i had the shift command lowered and it was fine then i did my cam and it started haveing problems again. now i don't drive all that easy i have a heavy right foot so i'm prettty sure if it hasn't gone yet its not going to for a while. but i just took it out for a couple runs up and down a local street and had some problem with the limiter after about 3 mins driveing around (let it warm up for about 5 mins before hand) once the tranny was a little warmer the car shifted hard at about 6200. did 2-3 more runs and no probs. maybe i gotta let the tranny warm up a bit more before trying to race it?
