if u are using a deeper pan from a truck trans the drain plug is a 15mm.
warning. the head of the drain plug is soft, easily damaged and extremely tight (at least mine was)
i just picked up a replacement from the dealership for $7.
it also uses a deeper/taller filter.
$13 at the zone.
where as the standard shallow pan filter is only $9.

Can I add something since your question has already been answered - knowing how I don't like to get answers to question that weren't asked .
To get the most correct (and highest) temperature reading you should put the sensor in the line going to the radiator (or cooler) that is first out from the converter; also referred to as the hot side. There are several good threads about this here and other fine fbody boards. Good luck.
