TH400 build
I'm getting ready to put a th400 in my car and want to give it a quick rebuild first.
car specs- 360whp on motor and also a 150 shot on top of that
50/50 track and street.
I was planning on putting a TCI full man. valve body reverse pattern
What all else should i do for just a quick and easy build up.
What brand rebuild kit is the best? Should i go ahead and do the red clutches as well?
any info will help, or a site with tips and tricks

Another convert to the trusty TH400.
Buy the best stuff you can, the TH400 is a stout transmission but you race alot and are stuffing a good bit of Nitrous down that motor.
I bought a used Rossler unit and its been golden.
I can't say enough great things about his transmission.

I have a DIY rebuild article for the TH400 here:
http://www.nastyz28.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58578
As far as parts,
it doesn't take anything too fancy for up to the 700 HP/TQ level.
Dual feed the directs as discussed in my article, use a 34 element sprag with the corresponding drum, use a roller bearing on the back of the rear section, pay attention to endplay, don't try to make it shift killer hard particularly from 1-2. It will shift very firm when setup as in the article.
Pay attention to pump clearances.
I don't use any fancy racing clutches even up to 1000 HP, the Alto reds are a good clutch but just not necessary in a TH400 IMO.
I do use the Hi-Energy clutches in the directs, and at over 700 HP I also use them in the intermediates.
At over 700-750 HP/TQ the steel forward hub is a wise upgrade as well as an improved input shaft.
