Are the pilot bearings on the A4 and M6 the same? My car is an A4 and I just bought an 02 take out that was a 6-speed car. Do I need to change it out?

 

I dont really understand what your asking...Automatics dont have pilot bearings...Are you trying to swap a 6 speed into your car??

 

No just the motor. It came out of an 02 M6 car and I'm reusing my A4 in my car.

 

Put the converter up to the engine to make sure it's mounting pads sit flat on the flexplate. Sometimes you have to just remove the pilot bearing if it doesn't let the converter go up all the way.
A4's don't need any pilot bearing.

 

Thanks. I'm about to pull the clutch assembly off the new motor now, but I won't get the old motor out of the car til later on this week.
