Default broke my second coverter...

well this is the second converter ive busted. the first had been rebuilt and i guess not put back together very well and the input shaft hub broke completly off. now this one i took a good chunck outta the hub. this is a brand new converter, maybe about 100mi on it. its a stock converter with somewhere around 2800 stall. what could be causing this. i have a built tranny and i guess theres a long stator in since its written on the pump. ive got cam, full exhaust, LS6 intake, 3.73s, and some other bolt ons. the latest dyno run a can remember is 383/??? (and thats probably the number thats more important here)

High quality pic. But from it I think you missed the pump note the slopes where the gear notches are. Its just a guess of course but it looks like the converter was not in the slots when installed. Dropped in when the engine started then damage was done to the hub on converter or pump or both and this eventually caused both to fail . You will have a bad pump also from the looks of the hub.

There is also the possibility if the pump was not repaired after the last converter that it failed and killed the new converter

the pump was my first guess since its blown multiple times. (in the middle of swapping to a M6 since ive spent way to much on auto trannys) i dont doubt at all that its not out again. when it went out i was just crusing 15-20 mph in traffic. like 10 min b4 that i got on it a little to swing the rear end out on a sharp turn but other then that just normal driving

I would get a good replacement pump from a vendor . Then a converter and check the dowel holes in the trans bell then put it all together and I would bet you will be fine after that.
