Default th350 vs 4l60e?

Thinking of getting a t/a and from reading the forus here I see that there seems to be lots of people having issues with the 4l60e not holding up too well. First thing my dad told me when I asked what tranny I should get was go TH350 and you cant go wrong. I want the car to be my DD but capable of track time and not have to worry to much about it. Yes I know U race U brake but limiting he possiblities with the breaking is what I am conserned about since Ill need to drive it to work come monday haha. I wouldnt think the TH350 would be very friendly as a DD what do yall think? Do any of you have a TH350 and use as a DD? the tranny my dad told me to get is this
TH-350 built by Texas Speed w/ 3200 stall

Srry I just started learning late in the game I suppose...

I think there good to about 400rwhp and thats if you carefully take care of them? but this reminds me of Fords AOD until companmys like lentech, performance automatic, and art carr starting to really study and R&R on them and now you have AOD's that can hold up to 1500rwhp and with the damn OD! seems like the aftermarket needs to get cracken on strenghtening up on the 4l60e tranny!
