Aftermarket shifter for 4L80E.
Aftermarket shifter for 4L80E. I have a 98 Camaro that has been converted to the 4L80E. The guy that I got the car from used a stock shifter. But it isn't working proerly. After looking over it well, I noticed that some of the stuff appears to be missing. If the car is in drive you can push the shifter into Reverse without pressing the button on top of the shifter. Not safe when driving. Also can't feel when gears are changed very well if you manually shift the car.
What is a good shifter to go with? B&M, Hurst or ????. I would like it to fit in the console without cutting or hacking it up to make it work.

I cant speak for the LS1 style consoles, but I got the B&M Mega shifter to fit perfectly into my stock location. Pretty easily at that.
Had part wasnt getting the shifter into the console, it was finding out that the bracket kit I didnt have was the missing link to making it all work flawlessly.

When you put tha one in, did you have problems with the speedometer not working? Or do you know which one of the wires on the PNP switch tells the PCM that it is in gear so it will send a signal to the VSS? tHANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME.... i INSTALLED A b&m pROSTICK WITH A 4SPEED GATE FOR MY 4l60, AND I LOVE IT ,cept my speedo hasnt worked since, so no lock up as well.., but it is fun
