Default PT4000 or PT4400??

Sent my converter in to get restalled. It is currently an SS4000, but I am changing my setup, and I've wanted a PT series for a long time. So which one will work best with my setup:

TR230
LS6 intake
UD pulley
LT's
TD's
3.90's in the rear
243 heads next spring

I loved the SS4000, and I want the new converter to be at least as tight if not tighter for street driving. I figure the 3.90's will help there. It's mostly a street car, but will see some track time. Anyone have some input.....maybe people who have had both?

I love my PT4000. If i ever send it in i'm probably gonna get it upgraded to the 4400.

I'm leaning towards the PT4400. I wonder how much difference there really is between the two.

The PT series will NOT be as tight as the SS even if you stay with a 4000 stall. I think Ragtop has tried all of these converters, he may be able to give you a good idea of how much looser the PT series are over the SS.

The PT's will outrun the SS at the track and with from a roll racing on the street but the trade off will be looseness.

^^^But won't adding more gear counteract that? SS4000 with 3.23's or PT4400 with 3.90's?

Thought you already had the 3.90's. In that case the difference between the SS and PT with the same 4000 stall probably won't feel looser. The 4400 PT would still be looser though even with the gear change, IMO.
