Default 4L60E, its dead need help diag'n the problem

Okay here the deal, is my girls little brothers car. 94Z..

The last time i was in the car i noticed that the shifts didnt feel right, rather rigid and at other times, late.

It started out as: it wouldnt shift from first at WOT, but all other gears it would.

Now it progressed to: It would jump in and out of gears with steady throttle and then it died. In drive you can wind it up and the car doesnt budge... Whats your thoughts, i would like to help get him back on the road asap but am not sure where the problem is. Would it be the Torque Converter?

Thanks a bunch sorry for the essay...

Sounds like 1)the seals are shot in the trans or 2) there is a lot of debris clauging the filter. Is the lack of drive related to the cold or when the car is cold?

I'd be looking at the converter, but I really think it's in need of clutches. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
