Question about 4L60E
a quick question about highway driving habits with a 4L60E...has a transgo shift kit on it and did it with the stock converter as well as the vig3200 and now has ~19000 miles on it. does have a B&M 24,000 cooler on it.
when driving at 65-70mph on the highway (~2500 rpms) and then sotp it will sometimes not accelerate but instead fly up the rpms and bang the rev limiter twice.
i am unsure as to why this is happening and was thinking a couple possibilities: something like an accuator or piston not working correctly for a proper downshift, something electrical, or an issue with line pressure, torque management? any clarification or help would be great as to where its gotten to the point of it just pisses me off . thanks in advance.

I don't know the answer, but mine was doing the same thing lately. I assumed that the 2nd gear clutch pack was just worn out. That is just a wild guess though. Sort of does a double down shift when punching it and dropping into second gear.
Do you have 3.73s? If not 2500 rpm at 70mph indicates that something is slipping badly. Also non-factory gears often cause downshift frustrations.
im still running the factory 3.42 gearset if that helps to clarify anything. what are the normal mph/ rpms for the standard a4 per gear. for example 1st i believe is between 0-30 mph with a shift point of 5800 is factory configuration. any ideas/ guesses on this? again thanks for the help.
Do a stall test in all gears. Look for the RPM to level off and stay there but if it slowly starts getting higher then you should check your fluid becuase it will be badly burned as your clutch packs are slipping
