Default what tranny could i use?

in my 94 camaro lt1 auto that would not make me have to make a driveshaft. would a 700r4 bolt right up? and use the same driveshaft? crossmember is not a big deal to me.

Yes it would bolt right in the 700r4 an 4l60e have the same dimesions except for the electronic contol they are actually very close to mechanically identical

if i were to use one i would have to make a kickdown and flash my computer right? if so where and how much would it cost to reflash my ecu?

You would have to do kickdown. You would not have to reflash the PCM but your SES would always be on, Not sure about flash cost.

is there a paticular type that i would have to have. like length of tailshaft or anything. car or truck tranny? and what about the lockup? i dont know a whole lot about the overdrive trannys. would the convertor from the 4l work in the 700?

Your converter would work as long as the trans is newer than 86 year. Lockup can be done with lockup kit in several ways. Now the case styles do vary. They will all bolt in well except the 2.8 v6 and 4x4 But some have different dust cover mounts etc. The tail housing along with the reluctor wheel for the speedo can be swapped to the 700 if its not allready set up that way.
