Default tuning or tranny problem?

I almost 90% sure this is a tuning problem but I just want to make sure before I go bugging anybody..When I have the car in 1st gear going about 20 miles an hr I floor it and QUICKLY throw the car into 3rd well when I do this the car automatically shifts into 2nd and then shifts back into 1st causing a little delay before I could just floor it in 1st and throw it into 3rd and it would be perfect..kind of ideal for a 20 punch but anyways let me know what you think guys...

Thanks Mike

That is likley a tuning issue but also and odd way to shift manually why do you jump to d why not just to second. It probably can be worked out in tuning but will likley require some trial and error on the setting I would imagine.

why are you shifting 1st to 3rd. If you think that by putting it into third that the trans will shift from 1st then to 2nd and then to 3rd it won't. Tuning would be required. Why not just shift 1st to 2nd then 3rd?

When I am on the street racing from lets say a 20 punch I put it down to first and the as soon as I floor it I throw it into 3rd because it used to shift perfectly into 2nd and then 3rd doing perfect shifts like automatics should not having to worry about shifting early or hitting the rev limiter

i would advise you to just reprogram the shifting table so you dont have to jerk around with moving the shifter. You know that by moving the shifter your not actually making the shift, the computer is and it takes a sec or two for the computer to command the shift since your manually shifting it. You can play around with shift times and such to make it shift faster with less delay when you move the shifter.
