Default I just ordered my first Yank! And it's a biggie

YTP4200 2.86 STR 5500-5800 Shift extension (my rev limiter is 6600)

I have a TR230 cam, bolt-ons and 3.73s.

I'm shooting for 10.9 or 6.9 (1/8) on N/A

Currently I have a Vig3200 best: 7.50@93.6 w/ 1.63 60'

That 1.63 with that power and gearing sounds like you were already somewhat traction limited. Better get some real tires for that TP! What tires were you running anyway?

Awesome converter you got there. <img border="0" alt="[burn out]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_burnout.gif" />

I'm new to the A4 game. I had an A4 got sick of it, put in a M6, got sick of it and now I'm back where I belong and loving it!

So I think the 1.63 came from the fact that my bump stops were smacking the axle on the launch unloading my tires. (At least that's what people said.) I was on pro-stars and Hoosiers slicks plus I still have a 4yr old 98 stock suspension

Hmmm...don't know about hitting the bump stops. Never heard of that problem nor had it launching 1.3 60fts...although I could see it if the car were lowered.

So you were spinning despite the Hoosiers? Sounds like your track might have been lacking in the prep department.

By comparison, Sunday I pulled a 1.62 on Nitto Drag radials. This was with 3.23 gears and a TCI 3500 stall (very comparable to your converter.) Plus, the car has been lowered about an inch.

Your traction problem is about to get alot worse if all else stays the same.

I guess those worn out '98 model shocks could have something to do with it as well. I bet you could find a used set off of an '02 model pretty cheap in our classifieds. People upgrade their stock shocks all the time.

That's my current converter. It a great all around converter. Has MONSTER mid-top end.

I think with your power level, your Vig's 1.63 best is toast <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I've been 1.54 with it Stock Internals. Averages 1.55-8's on my car.

What’s shift extension <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> ... is it whenever the car shifts at WOT that’s how far the RPM drops in between shifts??
