I have heard of it being done but for how long is a loaded question. How many miles are on your current set up, how has it been treated, and what is the condition of those parts? Might be a good idea to address those things first if your budget allows for it. Vince

Mine has lasted 15k miles with absolutely no issues, but I take care of my car. And I have a girdle on the diff, also.
With an auto, rear end abuse is lessened.
With a TransGo shift kit, trans abuse is minimized. But both will let go, eventually, according to this site.

It depends on many different things mostly the shape of the trans now and how hard you are on it , I have heard of people running at 500hp and doing it a long time but I imagine they dont beat the crap outta it. Its is indeed a loaded question but anytime your doing Power mods the trans should be considered either future upgrade or even better a now upgrade, It sucks to have anything happen unplanned.
