Default 4L80 + 525rwhp...

What needs to be done to the trans in order to have it hold 525rwhp reliably? Will clutches, steels and a band(alto, kolene, and kevlar obviously) suffice? I've seen that a good servo will help and stuff...But what about any major stuff like an input shaft, planetaries, etc? I was looking around on here but didn't find a solid answer.

It's going into a pretty light car too. 2900-3000# raceweight.

the sprags are pretty weak, other than that a good shift kit, and good clutches should do ok, there are several companies that sell lots of parts for them

Quite frankly a 4L80E will handle 525 RWHP without grunting in a 3k lb car.

What vehicle are we talking about and what is the primary use for the car? Meaning if this car is going to be at a "raceweight" I am not sure the 80 is the right unit for the job if it is going to be a track only car. Sure it can take the energy and is up to the task... but there may be a better choice in this case.

It's a street/strip car. Driven on the street often, but drag raced as well. Looking for something with overdrive though.

i have nothing but decent programming in mine, 100% stock and it has about 8-10k miles of close to 600whp and 3600lbs on it now. Some track, mostly hot hard street miles though. Hasnt slipped yet!
