Hey guys, I currently have a 6speed but i'm planning an auto swap and i wanna get back into drag racing again. I used to have a th400 before the t56, it was great but there were a few times i wished i had OD cruising on the thruway. The 4L80E is pretty appealing but i dont know alot about it and being electronically controlled i'm not sure if its my best option for a street/strip car. Any thoughts? I drive my car to and from the track, as well as cruising to car shows and such. I wouldnt be opposed to going with a th400 or maybe even a Powerglide however i'm definately going down on my gears, the 4.10s i currently have are a bit much and being that i want to spray a much bigger shot i need a bit more running room. So i think 3.73 are my answer. I had a ride in an 03 Cobra that had an auto swapping into it, he had a manual valve body with 2 switches on the dash, one for toque converter lockup and one for overdrive, it was awesome! Are the 4L80Es like this??

The new combo is a 408ci motor, TFS heads, custom cam, FAST 90/90 along with a 200-250 shot of nitrous. Help me decide on a tranmission. Thanks in advance for any help!!
