i have a 01 t/a with a a4 and a tci 3500 converter. the engine is stock but has slp lid, k&n filter, magnaflow catback and nitto drag radials. the rear end gears are 3.23s. i have a chance to swap my converter for a vig 3600 or a yank ss4000 and was wanting some opinions i what is should do. the car is still a daily driver.
take the tci out. I ahd the same converter and thought it was a good converter til I took a ride in my friends camaro witha a yank. i ordered my yank the next day and when I out it in I realized how much better it was. but then againthat is just my opinion. good luck
I got a PT4000 and am just waiting for my Performabuilt 2 to arrive. I was on the fence between a SS3600 and the PT4000. I am moving to about 4500' altitude so I figured I would go with the 4000.
BTW it currently has a 3400 2.2 Fuddle in it. It will be interesting to see the in-car diff between the two.
Converters seem to fall into that "personal preference" To some a 2800 is too loose, others have no prob with a 4400. Me, now that I have had one I think I went a little too small. Thats another reason I went with the 4000. I also have 3.73s so that goes along ways toward helping out.
