Removing Console With Auto Trans? How do you remove the shift *** on a 96 z28 with auto transmission? I have a repair manual that says you pry out a clip and the shift *** will come off the only trouble is I can"t see a clip anywhere on the shifter. Can anyone help? Thanks

it looks like a big staple. like dlove said it is on the radio side of the ****. pull it back in 1st gear and you can see the clip. a real small flathead works good.
