Default Tranny thoughts on 1-2 slip

I have a 4L60E with 60k in 7 years. It has a 4000 stall for about 5000 miles. Once at the track 2 years ago it bounced off the rev limiter from 1-2, another time 6 months ago, and then just for the first time with the stall. I drove the car hard a week ago and raced it 6 times in 3 hours and it never slipped, it looked like it shifted though a little bit after 6000 like 6150ish and it is rev limited @ 6000.

i guess my question is if it is normal to have a slip shift here and there or is that a sign of wear?

thanks
dakota

You are experiencing the effects of a worn transmission.

It is normal to see odd shift feel symptoms on high mileage units that have been driven hard. It's the nature of having a performance vehicle.

Try flushing or changing the fluid first before assuming that the trans is going out. I have seen this take care of that issue on more than one occasion. Always check the simple things first. If that doesn't work then you know there are other issues.

Well if you had it flushed that recently I would have to stay with the trans is just showing signs of wear and its getting close to time to replace it
