Default can i make it shift smoother?

HI All,
I have a Q
I have the trans go shift kit and when it shifts at low speeds in 2-3 gear
it makes a thump it not bad but annoying
I called trans go and they say its norm
but I still think there is something I can do to get rid of the thump?
on the valve body plate they recomend bigger holes could I replace the plate and leave only 2-3 feed holes stock size, would that work.
thanks guys.

How long has this unit been together? If it is a unit that has been in the car for a while and this is a new symptom then the issue should be addressed.

If it is a fresh rebuild ask your builder how large of a hole he drilled in the 3rd gear feed hole on the plate.

Then ask him how he modified the line pressure.

Then ask him how he set up the 3/4 clutch pack.

And get back to us.

Well if this started with the install of the shift kit the hole size is likley the reason, However I am not sure what you mean by thump but a shift kit and smoothe are kinda and oxymoron . Generally they are installed to cause a firm shift and not smoothe. You could likey put back in a stock plate and make the shift go back to being smoother, And yes you could enlarge the 1-2 and leave the 2-3 feeds stock but in relaity they are the set that needs to be firm the most since they have the least surface area. But generally the best idea is firm and progressive for a performance application smoothe in the sense of a soft shift means clutchs sliding and heat being generated as well as wear from friction during the apply.
