What TQ Converter?
So many people are using so many different TQ converters, how do I choose. I want a 3000 Stall what are you guys 1/4 mile ET's reduction on your converters. I'm hoping for a High 10 with ET Streets, Cam, and Converter with my current mods. I dropped .37 N/A in the 1/4 mile with Headers alone and the Best 1/4 mile is a 11.8 with my old 100,000 mile cats LMAO
On NIttos with a 1.81 60 ft. So I hope the Headers have dropped me the same with me on NOS. I also need a Cage or I will be banned from the track for a year I I hit another 11'

If you're looking for 10s, you'll need more converter than a 3000 stall, even with the juice. Consider a Pro Yank 3600E if you run a 200 shot or greater or a Yank Super Stock 3800 if you run less than a 200 shot.

Ill have to disagree with you on that one patrick, I have to beleive that you can get a 10 with a 3000 stall , A bigger converter will get you there easier, I agree , but to say that a a bolt on car with a cam and spray wont hit a 10 in the 1/4 with a 200 shot easily done with some good tires. I burn my tires into second gear with a horrible short time of 1.83 and still run 11.50s 121 mph with 273s , I am installing 342s and a comp cam soon and will post new times when i get them. I dont see a 10second pass a problem unless i cant get any traction, and i only use a 125shot of nitrous.
There's a big difference between 10.90s and 11.50s. You have enough mph to run 10s but not enough 60' time. More converter and better traction would get you there without adding more hp. If you're willing to jet up to a 200 shot, then your current converter and better traction MIGHT get you there, but that's a big maybe.

Oh , one more thing , What patrick says for converters are good choices , personally if I had to do it again I would not buy a converter less than 3500stall. Plan ahead and just buy 1 converter. So as pat says buy the bigger converter and you should be happy.
I was wondering the same thing. I am just starting out with the mods and want to have a streetable car that can go 11s in 1/4. I cant have a track car either since this will be my only transportation. If a 4000 stall too high? I eventually plan on a H/C package somewhere in the future (in about 3 years). Would that create a problem? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Blackecho Buy something close to 3500 for everyday use I think youll be happy. Pat my current setup is just a bolt on with 273s, Those times are not with 342 or the cam. At the present time I cannot hit the button till almost 2nd gear, overpowering the nittos. Hoping the 342s will shock the car harder. But 10s is not gonna be a problem with a 125 shot, If i can lower my 60ft.
