Question 4l6E / Stall problem!!

Hey guys, not to long ago i had a 3200 sd vig stall converter put in my 98 T/A. every since then the car feels slower after i hit 100mph. 0-100 im fine, get there no problem. but after 100mph my friends pass me on the road at wide open throttle. Which use to not happen when i had the stock converter in. what could be causing this? do i not have enough hp to keep accelerating after 100hp? so far this is my set up, F.A.S.T 90/90 85mm MAF, PS LT, 3200 sd stall, and tune by MTI. also MTI did the install and tune on the new converter. This problem is pretty aggravating, please help!!

I had the same issue before my cam install. I had full exhaust and an SS4000 converter. Up to 100-110 the car felt awesome, but after that it just seemed to fall on it's face. I think your converter might be too tight. What I mean by this is that the tighter converters seem to do great around town and off the line, but don't really produce at high speeds. My PT4400 is night and day difference when compared to my previous SS4000. The PT pulls like a monster all the way to 150+. The SS4000 never pulled that well. It's the nature of A4's. Get a cam and a looser converter and you'll be happy. I was never too impressed with my car until I added the cam and PT4400. But now I couldn't be happier.

If the rated STR is high, then the efficiency at higher speeds will be down. A lower STR will offer better top speed.

Ah yeah, the D1 will fix any top end problems you have and then some! I'd recommend a Yank PYE 3200-3600 for that application. I believe the PYE series is designed for FI and is supposed to be a perfect fit for a setup like that. Give Yank a call....they can tell you more.

You wanna stick with that 3200 if you go FI... The actual stall is going to go up considerably with the SC. I'm at exactly 600rwhp/603rwtq and I like the Vig 3200...
