Default trans brake 4l60e???????

i am curios if u can put a trans brake in a 4l60?? and i am would like to know if u can has anyone dunnit and how does it work and what about reliability???

Yes, installing a brake on a 4L60E is not unheard of. It is not very common though. Mainly because the 60 is not considered a trailer car transmission. Most serious racers who are making big horsepower are not going to run that unit. And because of it's cost it is not usually consideredto be an option for most guys.

Trans brakes work by electrically engaging reverse gear while in low gear, they are the same ratio therefor reverse cancels 1st and the energ is loaded into the converter and input drum. These uints should be considered candidates for 5 pin planets and bullet shafts because of the energy that goes into them at the hit.

The 4L60E trans brakes that I have seen cost close to $600 and needs a deep tranny pan. Rossler is the only manufacturer that makes a trans brake for the 60E.
