Default gear and converter questions

I have a st3500 stall and just broke my 410 richmond pinion on the "street"? I have 315 nittos on my ss wheels. How much et and mph will I lose if I go to a 373 gear and are 373s that much stronger. My car is n/a set up. The car ran great with the 410s. I have run 12.38 at 112, before the stall. I broke it before I got to run it at the track. The pass that I broke it was not all that impressive. I ran 75-90 weight oil, I wonder if my gears were weak from to thin of an oil. I had my 410s in for almost two years, then the st3500 converter for only two weeks, then it broke! What would you guys do. 410 vs 373.
I KNOW I NEED A 12 BOLT BUT MONEY IS LIMITED RIGHT NOW. I really liked my 410s

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of richmond gears. All my buddies that had 4.10 in a six speed car broke them. None of these guys ever ran drag radials and went to the track maybe twice a year at most. They also wined quite a bit, some worse than others. I dont know if its all Richmond's fault or not. It may just be that Richmonds are more sensitive to the setup than other gears. Anyway, If you went with a different brand gear like Motive or Strange I think you would be fine going back with 4.10. Also, MAKE SURE who ever does the install really knows what they're doing. It wouldnt hurt to invest in a TA Aluminum cover. 75-90 oil should be fine.

Thanks cw 99 z Ihave also heard that richmonds are not that good and then I have heard that they are the srongest. I was thinking of the gm superior gears. Thanks
