does my converter "lock up" by itself or is their a button??
how do i lock up my converter on the dyno. i just got a Vigalante 3800. how can i tell when it locks up? and how do i make it lock up. thanks
It will not lock-up on the dyno unless you either:
1) change the lock-up in Edit
or
2) install a lock-up switch
or
3) have an external device like a Tech II that can tell the computer to temporarily lock-up.

You can tell if it's locking up by taking it out on the highway at a steady speed over about 50 mph. Without taking your foot of the gas (remember- steady speed, not accelerating), put the other foot on the brake- the rpm's should jump a couple hundred as the TCC unlocks. If the RPM's jump the converter is locking as it should. No jumpy, no locky.
