Default 4L HP CAPACITY

I have been gone from the web for about 1 1/2" years since I stripped the incon prototype twin turbo kit and sold my Z. I had many problems 3 years ago when we first installed the prototype kit on the car with the trans, as many of you know. I will be buying a C5 OR C6 when the new body is displayed and wanted to know what the safe reliable hp capacity currently is on the 4L60 setup in the C5. Any first hand info on 550+ RWHP C5's would be much appreciated.
I am aware that the C6 may not have the 4L60 trans that the vettes have had for the past uears but, In case I do not like the looks of the C6 I will buy a C5 and go from there.
Thanks in advance.

I just posted this in anther thread, but it was so damn impressive I have to mention it again. I saw a video of an Impala built by CMotorsports (who is that "racing transmissions" sponsor) that make 800 rear wheel pound feet of torque. I couldn't believe it. My transmission is on it's last legs I think, so I'm looking at all the options.

Hey jason,
what's up man it's carter...the stcok 4L60-E "rating" is 420 lb. ft of torque....but everyone know's thats bull...most of the 98's are the one's with tranny problems and the 99's had some as well...but I put down 603 RWHP and 653 RWT on a 200 wet kit..stock *** tranny with a big cooler and a 3200 stall...been doin that for 36k miles man...some hold up other's dont i guess?Speed inc.'s stage III extreme is the best trans. I have encountered i beleive..(4L60-E wise)...and ask 99 black ta about his tranns behind his 422cid blower motor car..he had good luck with a company and it's a 4L..dont remember the name of the company though anyway's good luck man. Later,

Carter

YO Carter,
I wondered what happened to you. I will look into some of the built trans option / suppliers out there. I think I will end up with a 6 speed but, I wanted to look around just in case an auto catches my eye.

Thanks,
Jason
