How important/benefitial is a T-Brake?

How important/benefitial is a T-Brake? I am about to purchase a 4l80-e and always had the idea of getting a trans brake. Its about 8-900 dollar cost difference. How benefitial is this going to be to have? I wouldnt want to regret not getting it. My car is mostly a DD but its definately a weekend track goer.
