my 4l60e is down for the count
where can a get the best deal on a tranny that would handle more than 400+. I was thinking in getting a 400T, but I hate the Idea that it only has 3 speeds. What do u guys think, should I get the 400T or a 4L80e?

Check out www.ls1speed.com . I have Speed Inc's trans and it's great. I'm making about 430-440hp at the crank and mine is doing well. I have bascially a Stage 2.5 (there was only one trans when I bought mine, it fell somewhere in build strenght between a current S2 and S3).
I've seen their Stage 3 trans hold a 650 REAR wheel hp car for longer than the block held it

Oh my, while we're on the subject of how much a transmission will hold...
I saw a video yesterday of one of CMotorsports Impala's that makes like 800 REAR WHEEL pound feet of torque. I'm not sure, but those had a 4L60E too, right?

T400's are great if its mostly a track car, but if your street and have gears or intend to, forget the 400 unless you like high rpm cruising and eating gas. A built 4l60e should last and TCS gives you a full 1 year warranty despite your mods.
