Just got my 4l60E rebuilt...
I have 500 miles on it now and was checking to see if it is alright to race on it now and not glaze the clutches or mess anything else up? By the way it is a built tranny with alto clutches and all that.

Sean99SS,
A transmission does not have a break-in time like a motor. A transmission (when it is first put in) needs to be run on the jack stands to make sure that the tranny is going to take gear and shift (not through all the gears (R, D, 1, 2, and 1-2 shift). The tranny needs to have a road test to check to see if all the gears are working the tranny. If every thing is working and tranny shifts firm (if you have a shift kit, or line pressure increase) then you are ready to race!

Most of the other tranny builders I know want some break in miles on the clutches, similar to the way that you give new brakes a break-in period before jamming on them from 120 mph.
I would follow what your tranny builder told you if you want to have a warranty.
