Did i install the trans cooler line correctly ??? I just installed b&m transcooler yesturday. Thought it would be breeze since the trancooler was mounted few months ago and all i had to do was to indentify the transcooler line i want to splice to. Well it turned out to be a project but mission accomplished. I like to know if the line i spliced in to the transcooler is the correct one . I know there are mixed opinions out there on mounting the cooler & b&m instruction graphic shows u should hook up the trans cooler like this (transmission to transcooler to radiator) but i wanted to hook it up like this (transmission to radiator to b&m transcooler, back into transmission) because once it goes through the radiator/oem cooler then the trans fluid next go through the b&m transcooler colling the fluid more before it goes back into the transmission. What i did to identify the inlet trans cooler line i disconnected the top line to radiator located on the lt top of the radiator , wrapped a plastic bag at the neck of the hose line, then did a quick crack to the engine. The fluid shot out at the top line at the radiator /cooler opening. so the top line is the inlet line. Looks like the lower line at the bottom of the radiator is outlet line & top is inlet line to transmission. Did i testt this correctly & is the top line inlet line on 04 GTO ?????
04 goatman, I'm going to be installing b&m cooler as well as a 2800 vig. very soon, I,m just waiting for part to arive. I'm also going to install the cooler in the same manner as you did, I believe you are correct in your install. Did you monitor or trans temps before & after install, & which cooler did you go with. I just by-passed the radiator all together with no problems! Just going to a tranny cooler back to the tranny. Has been working great so far. Stays right around 180 all the time.
