i plan on putting a th400 in my next car, however i would never put it in a car if that is your only car to drive. It is do-able though. My friend had one in his built 347/nitrous Camaro. He drove it all the way from Florida to North Carolina with no problems, however he did go threw a few tanks of gas.

I'd say it depends on the rear end ratio as well as tire size. I'm doing a th400 swap for a dd right now, but I have 3.23 in the back and a 28" tall tire. In theory I should be going around 65 mph at 2500 rpm which isn't bad. With 4.10s on the other hand I would only be going 50 mph at the same rpm.
