Default Building a Better 4L60E

I'd like to discuss ways to build a stronger 4L60E. I'm only a hobbyist, I don't build 4L60E's for a living. What I've come up with so far is ....

* .. Low/rev planetary; upgrade to a 5 pinion from a four to increase applied torque limitations.

* .. Friction plates; upgrade to meet trans intended use (street/strip/towing or race).

* .. Steel plates; upgrade to a plate that provides better friction disc cooling.

* .. Band; upgrade to meet trans intended use (street/strip/towing or race).

* .. Shift improver; improve band-clamping force and cut down on clutch slippage during modulation.

* .. Rear sprag(car); upgrade to wide truck sprag.

* .. Pan(car); upgrade to deep truck pan.

Any/All imput on this appreciated ... Thanks ... Ron

Finaly got my parts!

TransGo does NOT recomend removeing the 3/4 clutch return springs: There explanation is that these return springs prevent cluch drag during high throttle 1st, 2nd and dureing 3-2 kick down by opposing high rev centrifugal residual oil apply force. ... I got the 3/4 return spring removeal tip from a builder who got it from a tech builitin. I'm going with TransGo. ... I changed my original post acordingly.

Batwing accumulator? I'm thinking this mod improves cluch reaction? ... I see something of the sort in my shift kit instructions.

Yup, the batwing accumulator is just another of the many optons probably worth doing. I'd place a priority on it from what a reputable tranny builder says.
