Default Are all 4th gen torque convertors the same?

So some weird stuff happened tonight, read http://web.camaross.com/forums/show...&threadid=75984 for the whole story.

But it ended up in me meeting a guy that's selling a 3200 torque convertor (forget what brand) for $200, used of course. I'm pretty sure it was off an LT1 though. Thunder Racing at least lists different part #'s for LT1/LS1 ones.

Are all 4th gen tq's the same? Same transmission, why isn't the tq the same? Please tell me it'll fit (even if it's off a V6, cause I don't remember, I just know he was driving an LT1 at the time). I really wanna buy it!

Sorry to burst your bubble but a converter from a LT1 will not swap with a LS1. That snout on the tourqe converters for the LS1s are longer than their LT1 conterparts. This is why yank makes different models for LT1s and LS1s.

The input shaft is different so they just won't fit. So even if you got a 9.5" aftermarket one made for LS1 and tried putting it in a V6 it wouldn't fit.
