Default H/C Go in, A4 tranny goes out

Ok I realize in chronological order that is correct but I picked the car up from the speed shop where I had the heads and cam installed and after 3 dyno pulls, and a couple circles around the block romping on it I set off for home which was about a 120 mile trek.

Not even 30 miles into it the tranny started slipping badly (automatic of course). Soon it wouldn't even hold speed and I had to pull over and call the tow truck.

Is this to be expected? I've been running a YANK ST3500 for quite some time and it's endured maybe a couple dozen low 1.7 60' passes. Should I have been expecting it to go this soon? I thought it would at least make one or two passes down the track before it went.

FYI it's no major loss...

1) I have a daily driver
2) I have a Speed Inc Stage III 4L60e in the garage right now! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

lol... Yeah... It'll happen.

Threw a cam in and got the car tuned...

What happened 4 days later when I was romping on it??? 3-4 clutch packs fried.

I should have a HPA Stage 2.5 here tomorrow though, so no biggie.
