Ok i have a 1993 trans am that i bought, the motor was "blown" and we got it running again; w/ a "couple" of mods, LT4 hot cam, AZ headers 3"borla and some head work. i was told that the tranny had been rebuilt and had a 2800 stall in it, dont know what kind. when i drive it normal it shifts fine, but when i get on it, it seems like its slips of something. the rpms shot up and the then it shifts. this happens from 1-2 and 2-3 but not as bad from 1-2. i dont know i wants wrong?? need help, thoughts or tip please anyone!!!

What RPM does it go to when you floor it? Are punching it from a role or from a stop?

Drain it and put in F Type Ford fluid.

Your clutches are probably worn. This will extend their life by reducing slippage.

 

It "lets lose" at about 3500 or 4000 when u get one it. both from of a role and a stop.

 

Well, it is time for a rebuild.

what extra things can you do in a trans rebuild so that you dont have to rebuild so often? can you add like stage2 this and that without having to order a whole brand new transmission from texas?
