Default converter question???

i heard somewhere that a coverter off like an 80s model blazer with 4l60 would bolt up to an ls1. is this true or has anyone ever even heard of this? they are supposed to have like a 2600 stall.

They didn't make 4l60s in the 80's. If it was a 700r4, the converter will physically work, but the converter clutch is different. It'll end up smoking the converter clutch.

It would be a Trailblazer converter you are talking about, out of a 4.2. Not sure on the year model, but around 2000 and up. It is referred to as an 11". The stock is 12". You can get a used one, but might be asking for trouble. I have a few cores and rebuild them with a little more stall, 28-3000, and make them stronger with a 1 year warranty, $350.
