whos cammed + stalled with stock tranny?
My stock tranny (120k miles) lasted all of two weeks after headers and G5x3; it slips and tags the rev limiter at high RPM. I have a converter waiting to go in, but hoped it might last until the end of the semester if I kept the stock stall. I was wrong.
I can't complain too much, I am the third owner and bought the car off of this site, so I am sure the car has been through hell already.
Keep it cool and don't beat the car to death and it should last you long enough to build up some funds for a rebuild. I'd start saving now though.

The cam and headers have only been on the car a couple of thousand miles now; tranny has never been rebuilt, as far as I know. I think it began slipping before I had run a few tanks of gas through it. I ran the dogshit out of the car, before and after the cam.
Yeah, it's a little bizarre (car still has 2.73s too). The shift extension sucks and a stall would easily lop off some major ET, but when it's not at WOT, the drivability is actually pretty good. I spent quite a bit of time getting the idle and transition tuned, though.
I didn't choose to do it that way, but being a full-time engineering student kind of got in the way of the mod money flowing in.

when I say stock I mean stock...the motor was just rebuilt after spinning a bearing..355 stalled and cammed..and no I have a daily driver for work...all the toy sees is the gas pedal...but seriously I drive the car for what I built it for with no problems from the tranny whatsoever..it sees an average amount of being "DRIVEN" I know the tranny is stock cause only one guy owned it before me...the motor let go at 195k miles and we rebuilt it from there...stalled it and cammed it at that point..talk as you wish...Im being honest
yep and before the motor rebuild she would spin the hell out of second gear and chirp third on WOT..needless to say she doesnt do that anymore with the stall..but its all stock..the tranny fluid hadnt even been changed for quite some time until i bought it...the motor was taken care of but with 198k on an lt1 it was bound to let go sometime..so we rebuilt everything
At 77k miles I put LT's, ORY, catback, lid, filter, cai, and a 4K stall tci w/ a tranny cooler inline of the factory set up. DD the car for 2 1/2-3 years. Parked her to do my build at 89K w/o any problems. I didn't always get on it, but I didn't alway baby her eighter and occasionally manually shifted it. I think it's just luck of the draw. Might last you awhile might not, but it doesn't hurt to try.
