Tranny Questions. HELP!!
Tranny Questions. HELP!! This has been bothering me for awhile. I put in a LS1 A4 into my 89 camaro. When i drive the car going down hill at freeway speeds, and press the brake the seems to go into neutral and when i let go of the brake the tranny goes back into gear and makes this clunk sound. like its hitting the bottom of my car. I check the tranny mount. looks ok. not sure if my torque arm needs to be adjusted. Is the tranny supposed to do that. thanks

Well I am not sure how you have your lockup set in tuning but when you hit the brake the converter unlocks (why it feels like freewheeling) and when you release the brake it locks up again. Thats likley what your are feeling. The clunk could just be drivetran lash being taken up as the converter comes back on. But I cant say if its normal or not for sure since I cant feel it myself. But the function of locking and unlocking with the brake is normal

Ok that sounds good. It must be something to do with the clearance issue of the drive shaft cause i have very little. i will also have the tune checked out on it. Thanks you very much!!
