Long story short lent my car to this guy who was gonna swap my 4400 for his stock converter in exchange for a good price. i assumed this guy was mechanically inclined as he was talking like he was. Give him my car and a day later he tells my my car will not catch any gears.
I'm assuming he did not put the converter all they way in and burned the pump possibly frying the tranny. if i replace the pump will it work or do i need to replace the whole tranny? if thats the case then
may be required. thanks guys

The best way to know for sure if the pump has failed is to remove a cooler line and start the engine. If there is no fluid coming out the hose then yep, the pump is compromised.
If that's the case then you should be able to replace the pump alone if it was operating properly otherwise prior to the converter swap.
Call me if you need a hand with figuring it out.
