Default how much room between shift point and rev limiter for nitrous

What would be an ideal amount of rpm gap between commanded shift rpm and rev limiter for a nitrous car?

By increasing this gap, it will no affect shift rpm on motor, correct?

I bounce off rev limiter on nitrous on the 2->3 shift, but not on motor.

So I'm thinking of increasing this gap and also lowering my command shift mph.

Am I going about this correctly?

That's how I do it. On a stock tranny it took 200+ rpm. On my built tranny it is 50-75 rpm. You can also change you shift time (time it takes computer to command the shift).

I tell everybody to set it 150 below the N/A rpm and see how it reacts. From there it is a matter of dialing it in.

Don't hesitate to call me if you need anything Hubert.

I tell people between 100 and a max of 300 rpm if you cant get it there you have a problem , To bad theres not a switch for N/A verses NOS but dont forget MPH figures in there too.

You could utilize the tow/haul mode in the tuning. The LS1 cars are not equipped with this button from the factory, but I think I have read you could add one. I think you just tap into the wiring harness. Then you would program the shift points for the motor run, then one for the N2O run. Just a thought, maybe someone else has done this?

I have a 200 rpm gap already, but I"ll lower mph for the 2-3 shift first to see how that does and go ahead and add an extra 100rpm in the gap just for added measure.

Hopefully get done today and take it out tomorrow.
