Default Anyone With Vig 4400-4800 ?

How will this converter be on the streets? My engine builder says 4400 min. The trans is a 4l80 and it will be fully manual. About 500 rwhp na. Looking at other combos other members have posted, I don't see very many stalls that high. The car is 80% race car 20% cruiser, but I drive it to the races. Any feedback would be huge. Thanks guys.

Wow, 4400 - 4800 is big for the street. It most likely will not have very good street manners. Not to mention it will be generating gobs if heat when it's not locked up.

500 rwhp is not all that much, why did he recommend you go so big?

Now, if it you are looking to win races at the track in serious competition... if you are chasing 60' times, E.T. and MPH numbers through the traps it is not too big.

Will it see a power adder?

Yea. I plan on 150 shot. I really don't drive it unless it's working if you know what I mean. It has run 10.79 @ 127 on motor with a 6 spd. All of this converter stuff is new to me, but he really wants a 4800 in it, but that just seems way over the top. I can't tell you why he went that big. thats why i'm asking for advice. Who knows, mabey he had good luck on an all out race car.

10.79 @ 127 is respectable.

4800 is way over the top if you plan on spraying it, but not if you are track only and have it set on kill.

I can make a recommendation for you if you can get me the vehicle weight, cam #'s, basic engine build, tranny info, gears and tire info.
