Default Stock stall/MS4

Okay, before people start freaking out on me please read my question in its entirety. I am in the process of doing heads/cam/forged internals ect... to the car and I am going to have to wait until early summer to do transmission/converter. I have put one on layaway through Perfomabuilt and am just waiting until I get this all back together to go ahead with it. Plus funds got tighter than expected so I'm trying to save a little more so I can afford the trans/converter. I want to buy them together through Performabuilt so that the warranty will be good for a year.

The car itself is at a buddies house right now and the motor is home in my garage being built. When it's done I will be taking the motor back over there and putting it back in. Now, here's my question, the heads cam combo is this: MS4/PRC 5.3 2.5's. I need to get the car out of his garage as soon as I can because it's been taking up space and he's been cool enough to let me keep it there thus far. The distance between his house an my house is about 10 miles. It will be June before I can get the new trans in there. I am not going to be driving the car at all in the next 5 months or so until the trans goes in anyways other than getting it back to my house. Is it possible to drive the car from his house to mine just to get the car home with that heads/cam combo with the stock stall/tranny?

I am not asking how well it will drive/perform/ect... I know it is not optimal by a long shot so don't comment on that. I am just simply asking if I will be able to drive it 10 miles to get home. There it will be parked until the new trans/verter goes in.

Thanks

if the engine is running just fine, I would say there is not any reson to drive all you want. The key is to not beat on it constantly. Just because your engine is making more power is no reason to not drive the car.

Drive it, enjoy it and deal with the tranny and converter as soon as you can.

Good Luck with the new combo.

U should be fine running on the stock stall...not much fun as it will push thru the brakes...but it can be done...my buddy did it for 2 months in his 99 SS and i have another friend who had his vette tuned to the ms4 and stock stall...

I would agree there would be no issue with driving the car home or even around with the stock trans and stall. It should last a long while if you dont beat on it , Stock stall may prove a little agravating with that cam though.

Okay, cool guys thanks! That's what I wanted to know. I just wanted to know if it was possible or if it would constantly die when I put it in gear and how badly it would pull through the brakes when at a stop.

And to answer your question, no, I didn't flycut. I went forged internals and the pistons are recessed.
