Default A4 tranny issues

I have a fresh rebuild on a 4l60e from a well known local shop.Ever since, the trans has not been acting right. My previous 60ft,1.52-1.55 everytime(yank st3500)now 1.69-1.80.it did throw a code,1-2 shift solenoid sticking,so I was like sweet an easy fix.replaced both just because. The car ran great for about 3 days, did not get any track runs,so I called the tranny shop and they said somehow the solenoids are shorting out.So thats my question.why?or how?The shop says their scanner is good up to 1997. Jim.

Hey Jim, It's kinda un clear what your problem is. I think your trying to say that you are having repeated selenoid failure? If this is the case then I don't think they are shorting out, whats more common is the loss of ground, The ground strap from the engine to the frame, I always add a strap to these units...I hate electrical problems. If your shop only has hardware to 1997, go to another shop, and check to make sure your getting the 13.2 volts also. These selenoids are very reliable, however I have gotten bad "new ones" from the dealer before. One last though, make sure that the internal wireing harness is sound, and in good condition, I have seen problems with these harnesses...could be loose connections (broken harness clips...these harnesses are brittle...due to the heat).

I am unsure of the exact problem, but I have seen many posts that have the solenoid codes after TC install. It has something to do with the TC install and not just a bad solenoid I presume.
